Break the Over-thinking Habits
“Stop overthinking your problem and start over
imagining your most amazing self- what goes on in
your mind goes off in your life.”
—Caron Proctor (Life and Business Coach, New Zealand)
Thinking too much or thinking too long is over-thinking.
Over-thinking can literarily make you insane and
cause a mental breakdown.
As per Swiss Psychologist Jean Piaget the children and
adult thinking process is completely different. Children
mindset is different, the way they solve the problem is also
different.
Positive thinking can actually help to increase your
life span, strengthen your immune system and lower rate
of depression. We are cognitive as kids and that is how the thinking
process develops and the process continues till the end of
life. Our experiences and surroundings shape our thinking
process. As a human tendency, we tend to overthink and
it happens naturally. Generally, if an incident happens, it
keeps running in minds and we as a result keep repeatedly
thinking about it, which is overthinking. Whilst you are
thinking, you in your mind keep changing the incident and
the outcome several times. This leads to over-thinking.
Again, thinking can be controlled if we really want to.
We as humans have the power to control our minds. Your
behaviours will automatically change, because you are in
charge of your own thinking.
Thinking is a natural process, to think about something
and acting on it is in our hands and we can do it. If you
keep over-thinking, it is not going to change anything
that has happened or is going to happen. Whatever is
happening is happening in your own mind. Turn off the
over-thinking mode and you can utilise the time to take
the much-needed action.
